Fishing

Two parallel systems sit on the same skill bar: standard fishing (catch fish & sellables for gold and skill grind) and boss fishing (cast on water with a special rod for a low chance to summon and fight a private boss for high-tier loot).

Required to fish a boss:
  • No level requirement — any level can cast a boss rod (gated by fishing skill, not character level).
  • A worm as bait. Failed casts have a 25% chance to eat the worm.
  • A Boss, Royal, or Mechanical Fishing Rod. The vanilla rod (2580) does not pull boss flasks.
  • Cast on any vanilla water tile. No "fishing zone" needed.

Boss Fishing Flow

1. Cast

Use the Boss/Royal rod on a water tile. 0.15–0.25% chance per cast to surface a Capture Flask. 2-second exhaust between casts.

2. Seal

Use the empty Capture Flask on a water source to seal it into a Flask of Bosses. One-time conversion.

3. Summon

Use the Flask of Bosses. A boss is rolled from the pool (weighted by your current fishing skill), you are teleported into a private room, and the fight begins.

4. Defeat & Loot

Kill the boss. An exit portal opens at the spawn tile. Loot drops to corpse + reward chest delivery. You have 120 sec grace to loot and walk out before auto-eject. 10-min timeout if the boss isn't killed.

Boss Pool

Each boss has a minimum fishing skill to roll in the pool and a weight (heavier = more likely). The roll happens at flask-use, not at cast. Higher skill = better chance at heavier bosses.

Recommended levels are guidelines for solo play. Legendary bosses (Kraken & Drowned King) hit for 880–1,200 melee and have DoT + speed-debuff + self-heal mechanics — bring a party or top-tier corruption gear.

Tips

  • Train fishing skill on a vanilla rod first — you need skill 30+ just to see common bosses in the pool, and 95+ to unlock Legendary rolls.
  • The Royal Rod has the highest flask catch rate (0.25% vs the Boss Rod 0.15%) and also better bonus loot on non-flask casts — it is the premium endgame rod.
  • Higher fishing skill biases the roll toward heavier — not just legendary — bosses. Common bosses keep rolling even at high skill because their weights stay in the pool.
  • If you log out or die in the room, you're auto-ejected to Thais temple and the room resets.
  • Rare and Legendary bosses use DoT + self-heal — bring stacked great or ultimate potions and rune supplies. Fishing bosses are solo encounters; you cannot bring a party into the boss room.
